Tips for a Loved One in the Hospital
Do you have a loved one in the hospital? Have you had a loved one in the hospital that the experience was not as good as could have been? I have put together a few tips that I have found helpful over the last few years of my career inside the senior living industry. Here are a few topics we cover:
1. Know when the doctor rounds
2. Get to know your nurses and communicate your loved ones needs and how to best care for them. Make it personal.
3. Understand that not all nurses are trained to care for people with dementia.
4. Communicate with your case managers and social workers early one and explain current living situations and plans for the future if a move is required for their safety needs.
